Dumfounded by the beauty of the surrounding Italian Alps
I just returned from a 10 day, 85 mile, three country hike around Mont Blanc. I’ll publish a full report of the epic G Adventures expedition to my column next month. Until then, I hope you enjoy these photos I took:
Chamonix, France — the start and end point of the Tour De Mont Blanc
Running through a field of French wildflowers
A French Shepard overlooks his flock as we head towards the French/Italian border
My buddy Wesley hiking his way into France from those trails you see down below
Doing my best Maria von Trapp impersonation
Me overlooking the city of Courmayeur, Italy
The Italian side of the Alps is the most picturesque
Looking back towards France from whence I came; most days we hiked 6-12 hours
Breaking for lunch in Italy
Wesley overlooking the Italian Alps from the top of Mont Blanc
View from the top of Mont Blanc by way of the Skyway tram
Hiking through the streets of Courmayeur, Italy with my party of 12
We slid down into snowy Italy
At the Italian-Swiss border about to descend into Heidi Land
Descending into Switzerland on a cold, foggy, and slippery day
Smiling after getting lost in the Swiss Alps
Beautiful day in the Swiss valley of the Alps
My first image of Swiss Architecture, not unlike something you might find in Germany
Breaking for lunch after a second day of hiking the Swiss Alps
Swiss wildflowers with the alps in the background
A cross erected in 1993 overlooks the Swiss Alps
Upon returning to France, we crossed this border marker—S for Switzerland, F for France
All told, this remarkable, strenuous, and rewarding trip easily makes my top 5.
Nice photos fella
