Do you use a land line phone?
Ma Bell ain’t gonna like this post. Newsweek writes: “In a recent report the Yankee Group, a research firm, reported that 4 percent of Americans say their wireless phone is their only phone, up from 3 percent last year….some 15 percent, or 6 million users, plan to ‘cut the cord’ over the next five years.”
I haven’t had a land line at my dwelling since before I was married some three years now. No telemarketers – unnecessary bill – zero portability = bliss. Have you dropped your land line? If not, what’s holding you up?

I’m one of the 15 percent planning to dropkick the land line in a few years. Currently I have DSL though. It was cheaper than cable at the time I ordered it.
That’s the only thing keeping Qwest in my house.
Otherwise I’d move to a Comcast + Vonage setup.
And I wish Cricket would let me have a Blackberry!! 🙁
I’ve gone from traditional land-line to VOIP at home. I’ve argued a few times that we should switch to all-mobile, but my wife won’t go for it. Mostly I think she’s worried about losing a tiny little cellphone: the regular cordless is hard enough to find sometimes 🙂
