“Try Jesus. If you don’t like him, the devil will take you back.”

I chuckle at this quote. I also believe this opposite is true, which is a rad fact about Christianity.
For any non-religious or other faiths in the room, I don’t necessarily believe non-Christians are under the influence of Satan either. I’ll earnestly try loving you just the same. Really.
That said, here are 10 things each of us can do by following Jesus’s unconditional example:
1. Love people, especially when there is nothing to gain from it.
2. Make room for people who are easy to overlook.
3. Serve instead of constantly asking, “What’s in it for me?”
4. Tell the truth, but don’t use truth as an excuse to be cruel.
5. Don’t let possessions, reputation, or status become the measure of your life.
6. Make time for silence, prayer, reflection, and God.
7. Forgive rather than allowing resentment to control you.
8. Stand up for people who are being mistreated.
9. Be humble enough to learn and admit when you’re wrong.
10. Accept that doing the right thing doesn’t always produce immediate rewards.
If you want to be a better person, ask yourself, “How would I live if love, truth, service, and closeness to God mattered more to me than status, comfort, and being admired?”
