Jim Morrison may have gotten all the ladies. But keyboardist, songwriter, and back-up singer Ray Manzarek was the backbone of The Doors. Behold how he “holds the line” with his bass organ, while simultaneously rocking a solo and singing back-up. Groovy.

Incorrect, David. Ray played it with his left hand on a Fender Rhodes Piano Bass. At least in the video above.
I was in a band with my friend Jen. She wanted me to play bass for her. I said, “I will play bass on the organ” and I did. It was much awesome. (I played it with my fingers, though. Ray M plays it with his feet!)
