The above story broke about 2 and a half years ago, care of ABC News. It’s a dinosaur when it comes to internet memory. While cleaning out my hard drive this morning, I stumbled upon it, and watched it again. It still makes me feel good.
Today, Jason McElwain works part-time as a grocery clerk in New York, according to Wikipedia. He wrote a well-received biography in February, and Columbia Pictures recently secured the movie rights to his incredible story. I can’t wait to see it.

One thing that was never mentioned is the remarkable sportsmanship of the other team. You would think that they wouldn’t be too happy to have the team manager bombing threes and running up the score at their expense. Bravo to the other team for allowing this moment to happen.
chatelain, you are implying that the other team stopped playing defense and allowed this to happen. anyone who understands basketball can tell by watching this video this was simply not the case. by saying that the other team ‘allowed’ this to happen you are taking away from what j-mac did and downplaying its significance.
That was an amazing moment.
