Like many of you, I go through food phases. Here’s what I’m particularly keen on eating, making, and cooking right now:
- Oven-baked ribs. As seen previously on the blog.
- Avocado shakes. I first discovered these breakfast smoothies while living in Brazil. Here’s how I make mine: Blend one avocado with one cup of milk and 1-2 tablespoons of sugar to taste. Better yet, slice the avocado in advance and freeze for even more refreshing awesomeness. When the fruit is in season (i.e. four times a year), I like to dring one a week, they’re so good.
- Naan with curry. Here’s the recipe we use. To make it even better, flatten the dough like a pita. Once cooked, coat with olive oil and sprinkle with 2 parts paprika and one part garlic powder to taste. Serve with your favorite curry dish — say a nice squash curry soup, massaman, or any old curry. For best results, dip the naan into the curry before shoving into pie hole.
